Riding and racing..or not!

Well today is the last of the 2009 Sunny Series XC races at Illanbah. our bottles are filled up, our bikes are clean and our kit is neatly folded. Problem is that the race has alreaady started and we're still at home, following Aiden's what I can only liken to a 'bad curry incident' last night, despite the distinct lack of curry consumed.

It was Simon, Trav and Dan's combined 83rd (still can't figure out how old they are individually...) birthday last night and festivities, house-laps and gin constituted the evening's fun.

It was all fun and games...I was DQ'd for not drinking during the house lap, there was chilli schnapps, Mondo was there socialising in her new stripey jacket.A really pleasant evening all in all, topped off by a chocolatier-than-satan birthday cake.

Alas, we left the party at about midnight so that we could get up at 5.30 to leave for the race. But it didn't pan out that way as Aido was heaving bucketloads of puke into the porcelian bus every hour, on the hour, from 3am—7am. Not pleasant for either of us, but especially him, of course.

So, despite us both being leading the Sunny Series with one race to go, we are still at home.

It's not such a bad thing, I think a decent run won't go stray this morning, followed by a solid singlespeed session in the arvo.

Hooray for coffee. After last night, my eyes look darker than the kid in the Chaser's 'make a realistic wish' skit.
