Mayor Fenty declared that DC was in a snow emergency today. So did I stay at home curled up under my snuggly blankets like any rational objective person? Noooo. I got bundled up in my intrepid explorer uniform- thermal underwear, jeans tucked into my knee-high boots, and my 30-year-old argyle sweater vest- and headed over to the Hill. The Eastern Market building was open, but aside from a couple of fruit stands and Christmas tree sellers, there wasn't anything else going on outside. I decided to make the most of my time in the neighborhood so I went over to the Senate gallery to sit in on the health care stuff. Aside from hearing different senators speak, I also enjoyed seeing a bratty Senate page with attitude have a silent conniption fit off to the side.
Once I figure out how to get my camera phone stuff loaded up on the computer, I'll be posting pics of DC under snow and the epic sweater vest of glory.
