The race season is at the same time really exciting and really terrifying.
The great thing about MTB'ing, as mentioned previously, is that racing is really you against the clock. And you can take away from it what you want—if you are looking for a podium position and you luck out and get upset that's one thing, but you can also have a fantastic ride and end up mid field.
It's funny how state and national results differ oh-so dramatically!
I am looking forward to going to Sunny (dry, hot etc) Adelaide, to catch up with a huge bunch of like-minded cyclists, enjoy a few beers post-race and generally revel in the good times—regardless of race results.
I think chillaxing a bit more about it this year has definitely been a good thing!
