I work in a rather causal office environment. I am regularly the most "dressed up" person in the office. By dressed up I mean nice jeans, pretty shirt, and some cute ballet or pointy toed flats. I do not wear tennis shoes, although they are always welcome in our office. When I first came to work there, I was faced with the harsh reality of the dress code. We have a few other rules on the dress code such as no Crocs, a welcome rule, but the one that hit me the worst was the, "employees must wear closed toe shoes". I was devastated, saying goodbye to my sandals, and peep-toes until the weekend.
I instantly went for the classic ballet flat and pointy toed flat, thinking that most heels were too much for the office. Now, over a year later working there I still stick to the, "no mile high heel" rule, but I am also going for comfort. Even though I work a desk job, I am up and down constantly, from my desk, through the office and to the warehouse. By the end of the day, my Sam Edelman pointy toed flats are wearing on the youthful glow of my feet.
I have recently decided that I am going to look for shoes that I can wear a lot, which I have gone through three pairs of black flats of multiple styles since I have been working, and ones that my feet won't scream in pain if I put them on two days in a row. I also want to make sure that the shoes, while comfortable, still have style and do not look like orthopedics. Below I have found a few shoes, some that I own, some I would like to that fit this description perfectly.
Just last weekend I purchased these Me Too Linda shoes from Nordstrom. I have worn them four out of five days this week. I love the red. It has a little sparkle and my feet are completely blister free. I will express my love for Nordstrom another day. I have another pair of Me Too shoes and I feel the same way about them. They are well made, comfortable, affordable, and they have a touch of style that makes them more appealing than your typical comfort shoe.
Meet the Me Too Jasmine Bootie. I do not own this shoe, but based on my love of my other Me Too shoes, I would love to get to know them better. I love the buttons! These are currently available on Zappos! in brown and gray suede.
I am getting a little ahead of myself writing about these, but I just could not hold back. I bought these just this week on Gilt and my feet are itching to be encased in their golden splendor. I have a pair of Cole Haan Nike Air hybrid shoes and they are great. I love them because they are great for walking and standing but do not look like they are built for comfort. There is something about wearing fabulous shoes, and making it look easy that is admirable. I am all about faking beauty pains. Anyway, I am confident that these will not disappoint and will be worn regularly once they arrive. The Gilt sale is over but the Cole Haan Air Andi is available at Zappos!
A trend I am really interested in this year for fall is suede. I absolutely adore these shoes. They are very saucy and I would love to get my feet in these. This is the Cole Haan Air Swan pump. It has a nice youthful glow but still has the secret Nike air soles. You can bet I will be investing in a pair of these soon. These are also available at Zappos! in gray and black.
