Loving it!

Loving it is not often a phrase you'll hear uttered from my lips very often, and definitely not when it has been raining torrentially for (what seems like) months! However, I am feeling pretty good despite the grey weather.

Aido and Glenn raced the BSMC 4-hour in the mud last weekend, I decided not to go down that road—chafed bottom, and needing a new drive-train, kit and glasses for the sake of a club race didn't seem like a good deal to me. Despite Aido trying to convince me of the 'fun' that was to be had (this was pre-his ride, you can see what he thought of the race during the ride below);

Is that a face of someone who is having a great time? I think not. I was having a great time NOT riding in the mud. And it reduces the risk of this type of thing happening:

(Because I know I am always taking the 20 foot launches...in the wet...on my DH bike..?!)

Anyway, I am not sure exactly why I am loving it at the moment. I worked last weekend and despite the rain had one good day out on the mountain-bike. We got drenched but it was worth it to quell my cabin fever. The other day I spent far too much time on the rollers, which turns your brain into potato after a while. Not really recommended.

Anyway, to State Champs XC this coming weekend, and a big fingers crossed for some fine weather leading up to that point. Especially seeing as I woke up to a swimming pool in the bathroom. See? So much to smile about...
