Thus far, I've been impressed by the collections for Spring 2012. One of my personal favorite trends (and a favorite of designers) that has emerged is the perfect white dress. Interpretations have ranged from comfortable luxury to ladylike, providing options for nearly every taste. In contrast to the stark beauty of a white dress, many designers have also been using some absolutely gorgeous prints. Prabal Gurung's florals remind me a bit of Balenciaga S/S 2008 and Alexander McQueen's kalidoscope prints from S/S 2010, two collections I adore. Similarly, I thought Thakoon's Bollywood-goes-West patterns to be a fun departure from the flirty florals other designers were presenting.
