Mayhem at (nearing) 5 months

Well, mayhem is close enough to 5 months for me to go 'yep—5 months' when and if people ask. I guess i'm lucky in that I still don't look like I have any type of ball (netball, basketball etc) down my shirt so people don't just guess pregnant. Even people I do know and acquaintances who I don't see regularly don't guess. I suppose they just think that i've chubbed out a bit from not riding my bike enough! It's partially true I suppose!

Mum and Dad at 5 months...

Still riding about 7 hrs a week and fitting in one or two sneaky runs. Think that the running may be a finite thing though, as even though I don't sport a massive bump I am very aware of the pressure even a medium or little bump can put on your bladder and pelvic floor. Usually I can run for 20–25 min, then need a wee break (sometimes I need to 'powerwalk' towards a tree instead of run to avoid certain disaster), then I can usually continue for up to half an hour more, but from this point I have to be careful running down hills etc and have to do a couple of 30sec walks between running. But still, I can keep active so I am happy!

Up for a riser bar on my MTB and flat-bar roadie now, I am riding with flat bars on both and I have the sensation that my uterus is being folded in half when I ride. Will have to fit asap. Doesn't help that they're set up quite aggressively to begin with.

Uni is finally over (thank god!) and the only stuff I have to read is all the info for the Birth Centre—we are lucky enough to be accepted into a birth centre spot. There's four suites, all with pools and big beds and generally more homely than a regular birth suite, so hopefully i'm not in labour when there are 5 other ladies about to pop too! No pain relief (well, there are a couple of options but going to give it a red hot go without—if Mayhem is ok!) so will be doing lots of reading. Looking at having a student midwife along too. I'm a student, and I am lucky enough to have good prac experience (albeit maybe not enough!) so I would want any health professional to have the same.

Also—yoga for fatties (pregnant ladies). It may be a new adventure I am to embark upon shortly...
