Life has been a bit more manageable of late. Elv is 7 1/2 weeks and has been sleeping a bit better (except for last night, grr!) and I've recovered from the solo parenting fiasco that coincided with the Tour de Cure 2012 and Aido's commitment to wrench for a few days.
Very slowly feeling less crap on the bike, hard to gain fitness and endurance quickly when your max ride time is 2hrs, however I have plenty of time before I actually want to be fit and fast, in the mean time I just want to be fit and fast because I don't like being unfit and slow!
I have blinged the Specialized up a bit with the retro plastic barends that look like space-eggs (I think they're cool, anyway!) and the new anodized green bar that's about 600m wide.
On the other hand here is my roadie, finally a pic of the build (albeit a crap picture taken amongst all the shit in our shed!), which is great but coming from riding 600m wide bard on both my MTB's I feel like the 40cm roadie bars are a wee bit on the small side. Yes I am a girl and I should probably be on 40cm bars but gee whiz it's different from the MTB! Think next time i'll step up to a 42 or 44cm, which will look more tan a little weird on a 50cm frame but hey—my long seatpost also looks weird!
Finally, these are the bikes I have been rolling on most recently, but some more exciting rolling has been going on in our house. Elv has mastered the front-to-back roll! She did it last week while Aido was on tour and I swear he didn't believe me, and she was a bit shy of repeating such a star performance. However yesterday I caught it on camera! And today Aido wintessed a roll in the flesh. She's a talented baby-pea! Rolling over at 6 weeks, I wonder when we can take her mountain biking?
