Sleeping when you can.

Well, now Elv is two weeks old she does 'awake' time much better than at the start. This is fun as we can play on the mat and read books, however she loves a good couple of hours early in the morning, when I would really like to be making up some zzz's from the three feeds in the night prior. I sleep in the afternoon if I can, when she does. And to be honest, I fall asleep feeding her at night a fair bit too!

Not to complain, i'm still going pretty well on very broken nights. I figure it's a good thing—I seem to have no problem with milk supply because she's such a good little feeder. Plus, it's not forever and when I see her little face I don't mind at all.

I can't believe how much she's grown already!

I have managed a few rides and everytime I ride I manage to go a bit better. I think it's the nature of riding the singlespeed too—adapt or die. Well maybe not die, but almost. Walking on the SS is comparable.

My hunger is insatiable. It feels like I have gone out and done 150km every day. Apparently you burn on average 650 calories a day making breastmilk, and they encourage a dietary increase of 400–500 calories. It feels like I am eating a lot more than that, a bit of a bottomless pit! It's much worse when I ride, so I just try and keep heaps of fruit and vegies and wholegrains and yoghurt on board, that way if I eat a lot at least it's all good. I do have cravings for cookies though... :/

My favourite time, naptime!
